Since 2012 João Ferreira has been preparing a doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon on - modernization of European competition law. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon in 2002 and went onto obtain a post-graduation degree in European legal and economic studies from the University of Paris I (2006). In 2007 he earned his master of Laws degree from Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon with a focus on the interface between economic and monetary union and national public finances. Since 2006, he has been a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon. He also serves as the Legal Officer in the Portuguese Competition Authority (2007 onwards) and actively practiced law from 2002 till 2007. He is the editor of “Competition & Regulation” review and has published in the fields of European Union Law, Competition Law, Public Finances and Monetary Union. Apart from being a member of IDEFF, he is a member of the research groups on Globalization, Economic Integration and Development: European and Lusophone Perspectives and Market Failures in a Globalized Economy: Institutional Approaches.
