Research Project (2015- )

This Project aims to promote research on Tax Education and Citizenship, intending to raise awareness among citizens in general to the important role of taxes.

This project was funded by the FEDER/PT2020 (https://transparencia.gov.pt/pt/fundos-europeus/pt2020/beneficiarios-projetos/projeto/NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-023491/).

In this context the project bounces several actions heading for the younger adults in particular, the preparation of a proposal for a national program involving the ministries of Finance and Education, conducting conferences and the making of material, namely, brochures and books and designing digital games aimed at different age groups.

This Project also intends to carry out an investigation on Tax Education and Citizenship in the context of Lusophone Countries, investigating what has been published and made mainly in Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, and Mozambique.

Us and Taxes - A contribution to the History of Taxes in Portugal - a edited book with scientific coordination by Clotilde Celorico Palma and articles by several authors, published by Almedina in September 2022, in partnership with the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Lisbon/Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa/ISCAL and with the OCC, and holding a Conference on the subject in partnership with Portuguese Tax Association/Associação Fiscal Portuguesa/AFP in February 2023.
Publication of the book Taxation of artistic activities, with scientific coordination by Clotilde Celorico Palma (CIDEEFF), Guilherme Waldemar d’Oliveira Martins (CIDEEFF) e Paulo Nogueira da Costa (ISCAL), published by Almedina in May 2023, in partnership with the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração Lisbon/ISCAL, and holding a Conference on the subject in partnership with the National Society of Fine Arts/SNBA, the Portuguese Tax Association/Associação Fiscal Portuguesa/AFP in Juin 2023.
The book Little Joan and taxes - A story of tax education for children/A Joaninha e os impostos - Uma história de educação fiscal para crianças (Clotilde Celorico Palma), was adapted to the Azores, São Tomé e Principe and Guinea Bissau and will be published in Ocotober/ November 2024 with the sponsorship of the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados/OCC and we will hold three Conference in late 2024, early 2025, in the Azores, São Tomé e Principe and Guinea Bissau organized by Eduardo Paz Ferreira and Clotilde Celorico Palma.

Celebration of protocols and influence in the academy

Insertion of the theme of Citizenship and Tax Education in the Masters in Taxation at ISCAL and ISCEE in Cape Verde Carrying out around 100 academic works in Portugal, Cape Verde and Angola (eight Master's theses)

Proposal for a Plan for Citizenship and Tax Education

Professor Clotilde Celorico Palma was a Speaker on the topic “The role of Citizenship and Tax Education”, at the 1st Congress on Tax Education and Citizenship, organized by the General Tax Administration of Angola, held in Luanda on April 29, 2024.
