Debate "What Kind of National Health Service Do We Want?" – Series: "5 Questions, 10 Answers"

CIDEEFF – the Research Centre for European, Economic, Financial and Tax Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon – is pleased to present the first session in the "5 Questions, 10 Answers" conference series, taking place on 23 April. The theme of this session will be "What Kind of National Health Service?".

The session will feature Dr Óscar Gaspar, President of the Board of the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals, and Dr João Marques Proença, Vice-President of the National Federation of Doctors.

The debate will begin at 6:00 PM in Room 12.27 of the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon.

The session will last no longer than one hour and will include two initial presentations – one by each speaker, lasting no more than 15 minutes – followed by a round-table discussion based on questions from the audience and/or the moderator.

The CIDEEFF – Research Centre on European, Economic, Financial and Tax Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon is currently organising a series of debate sessions on topics related to national public affairs, entitled "5 Questions, 10 Answers."

This sessions, which will commence on 23 April and conclude on 17 June, will be held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Its aim is to identify and foster critical discussion and reflection on key contemporary issues. For this first edition of the series, the following questions have been defined:

  • What kind of National Health Service do we want? – 23 April

  • What solution for the housing crisis? – 7 May

  • What immigration policy? – 20 May

  • What future for Social Security? – 3 June

  • What direction for an industrial policy? – 17 June

 

Each session will last a maximum of one hour and will begin with two initial interventions – one by each speaker – each not exceeding 15 minutes. These will be followed by a roundtable discussion based on questions posed by the audience and/or the moderator.

 

The first two speakers for the upcoming debate will be announced shortly.
